We have a 1976 Black Firebird Trams Am here at west Texas Classic Autos that has a much modified big block 400 Pontiac X7 coded engine in it and is painted in black with a black bucket seat interior that will push all your Pontiac muscle buttons.
Mechanical
Pop the hood and you will see an XG coded big block Pontiac engine in all its glory sitting underneath the Pontiac Trams AM Shaker hood scoop.
It looks as it did when it was new as the engine block and heads painted in the correct Pontic blue paint, with chrome Edelbrock valve covers, tube exhaust headers flowing into the dual exhaust system, four-barrel carburetor and that factory Shaker hood scoop, and is backed by the strong Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
Trans Ams were known for their handling, and this one goes great with the Variable Ratio power steering, power Wildwood disc brakes conversion, and the modern grip of fat tires on the oversized replacement Snowflake style wheels, with great sounds coming out the splitter tips.
Interior
Inside is the immaculate stellar black interior consisting of black vinyl high-backed front buckets seats with the matching rears both well bolstered, black center console, black/polished three-spoke Pontiac TA formula sport steering wheel, air conditioning, the cool machined aluminum dash with all the factory Rally gauges with clock and tach, power windows, power door locks, AM/FM stereo system with a rare accessory tape deck, and black carpeting.
Exterior
The black paint job is great and is accented by the Trans Am Screaming Chicken and shaker on the hood and the full-width rear spoiler, Trans Am decal package, iconic grill, and this TA package is one that it will remain appealing for many more years to come.
With these Trans Am’s being the star of a feature film makes it an instant classic everyone knows and loves, you can be sure that the demand for it is just as high today as it was back in 1976.
